our BGC South SLO team
Administrative Team
Rebecca, Executive Director
When the pandemic started over two years ago, no one could have guessed the ways it would impact our South SLO kids and teens. But in 2022, parents, caregivers, educators, and youth development professionals have worries they didn't have just a few years ago.
As the leader of Boys & Girls Clubs of South San Luis Obispo County, it's what keeps me up at night. While it may be some time until our community can measure the effects of the past few years, Boys & Girls Clubs of South San Luis Obispo County is proud to share that we are serving more than 1,000 youth per year. We are currently serving youth before- and after-school in the Lucia Mar Unified School District. Making a donation today helps us continue serving our communities’ youth. A recurring monthly donation ensures that we can provide great futures, today and tomorrow. When kids have Clubs, and Clubs have you, there's nothing they can't do! Thank you for supporting Five Cities and South SLO Clubs’ kids through these challenging times and for being part of the solution. |
Jasmine, Resource Development Coordinator
My hobbies include going on adventures with my husband & dog, beach bonfires with friends, going to Disneyland, and trying every art or craft imaginable! My favorite local restaurant is The Green Olive. My favorite drink is a Unicorn Blood Soda at Dutch Bros. The three things I would want with me if I were stranded on an island: my husband, my dog, and a grove of coconut trees. I love BGC South SLO because I get to help our local youth on their journey to a wonderful future!

Mike, Admin Coordinator
Hello, I'm Mike! I was born and raised in Los Angeles. I graduated with a degree in communications at California State University of Northridge. About three years ago, I moved to the Five Cities area and never looked back. Some of my personality traits would be humorous, genuine, kind, and humble. My favorite foods are pizza, BBQ, and sushi. Just typing all of that made my stomach growl! When I'm not working, I enjoy playing video games, traveling to different places, and boxing. I love working for the Boys and Girls club because of our team dynamic in serving youth.

Unit Coordinators
Ariti, Oceano Unit Coordinator
Hello everyone! My name is Ari and I've been with BGCSLO for 2 years, working at our Oceano, Grover Beach and Shell Beach sites. I serve as a coordinator and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion(DEI) coordinator. You can find me working on establishing a safe and brave zone for our youth. As a psychology major and Anthropology minor, my love for learning about cultures and diversity has driven me to work in the field of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. My goal as a DEI coordinator is creating a sense of belonging using social-emotional programming that allows all our youth to feel here, heard and that they matter. When I'm not at work, I'm a casual indoor gardener with a love for collecting all things cute and kitsch. You can also find me making polymer clay crafts or hanging out with my dog named Ollie Bear.

Erikah, Grover Beach Unit Coordinator
My favorite hobbies are playing sports, arts & crafts, and reading. I play on an adult softball team with my dad which is fun since he was my softball coach since I was little. My favorite restaurant to eat at is Yanagi Sushi & Grill. I love to get the chicken teriyaki bowls with white rice. My favorite soda is Cherry Coke or Dr. Pepper. Three things I would want if I was stranded on an island is a survival packs that comes with all kinds of supplies, a book to read until help comes, and a satellite phone to reach out for help. I love working at the Boys & Girls Club because I’ve always wanted to be a teacher and work with kids and this job helps us in that way. We’re also mentors for the youth and we love to see their growth, accomplishments, and success.

Camila, Shell Beach Interim Unit Coordinator
I am a college student working toward my associate degree in Kinesiology. I enjoy doing outdoor activities like going for a run, going on a hike, going to the beach or sometimes just going on a road trip and enjoying nature, also one of my favorite activities to do is catching the sunset. One of my favorite drinks is iced coffee although I am not a big fan of Starbucks. I think local coffee shops have the best coffee drinks. My favorite food is pasta, fettuccini alfredo is my favorite! I used to watch over my cousin's kids just for fun on my free time, so I thought working for Boys & Girls Clubs of South SLO County my winter break in 2021 would be a great place to be while doing what I like and changing youths' lives. Little did I know, two years later they would change my life!

Lead Youth Development Profesionals
Jaqi, Lead Youth Development Professional
My name is Jaquelyne, but my friends call me Jaqi. My hobbies include art, reading, and being outdoors/traveling. A fun fact no one would be able to guess about me is that I did competitive cooking in high school. I am currently studying to get my associate degree in psychology with a focus on youth development. I grew up going to Boys & Girls Clubs so working here seemed like a natural choice. I enjoy working with youth because it's fulfilling and being there for them makes me feel like I'm having a positive impact on their lives. I was raised here so it's nice to give back to the community.
