Administrative Team
Rebecca, Executive Director
Our South San Luis Obispo County Club is so fortunate to have supporters from our community. You are making a true difference in the lives of South SLO youth and families who rely on us to provide a safe and fun out-of-school environment - a place where kids can be kids!
We thank you for investing in our community’s youth and supporting our mission of serving youth, especially those who need us most, to help them reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Again, we greatly appreciate your support. Thanks for helping us help others. |
Jasmine, Resource Development Director
My hobbies include going on adventures with my husband & dog, beach bonfires with friends, going to Disneyland, and trying every art or craft imaginable! My favorite local restaurant is The Green Olive. My favorite drink is a Unicorn Blood Soda at Dutch Bros. The three things I would want with me if I were stranded on an island: my husband, my dog, and a grove of coconut trees. I love BGC South SLO because I get to help our local youth on their journey to a wonderful future!

Mike, Operations Director
Hello, I'm Mike! I was born and raised in Los Angeles. I graduated with a degree in communications at California State University of Northridge. About three years ago, I moved to the Five Cities area and never looked back. Some of my personality traits would be humorous, genuine, kind, and humble. My favorite foods are pizza, BBQ, and sushi. Just typing all of that made my stomach growl! When I'm not working, I enjoy playing video games, traveling to different places, and boxing. I love working for the Boys and Girls club because of our team dynamic in serving youth.

Hello, I'm Elizabeth. My hobby is celebrating Halloween Daily and also, I love to garden. My favorite local restaurants are Tacos De Acapulco and Sylvester's Burgers. My favorite drink is a caramel latte with 2 extra shots and almond milk or a super cold diet coke. If I was stranded on an island I would want an acoustic guitar, lotion with sunscreen and a supply of various seeds to plant. I love BGC South SLO because I love working with children of all ages and helping serve the community, I grew up in.

Camila, Oceano Unit Coordinator
I am a college student working toward my associate degree in Kinesiology. I enjoy doing outdoor activities like going for a run, going on a hike, going to the beach or sometimes just going on a road trip and enjoying nature, also one of my favorite activities to do is catching the sunset. One of my favorite drinks is iced coffee although I am not a big fan of Starbucks. I think local coffee shops have the best coffee drinks. My favorite food is pasta, fettuccini alfredo is my favorite! I used to watch over my cousin's kids just for fun on my free time, so I thought working for Boys & Girls Clubs of South SLO County my winter break in 2021 would be a great place to be while doing what I like and changing youths' lives. Little did I know, two years later they would change my life!

Valerie, Shell Beach Interim Unit Coordinator
My name is Val! I am super excited to join the BGCSLO team at Shell Beach. I was born and raised in Bakersfield, CA where I graduated from CSUB in Studio Arts and Art Education. I then moved to Denver, CO in 2022 where I worked as an Assistant Director for a before and after school childcare program. My husband and I were super excited when we got the opportunity to move back to California – especially to the central coast! When I’m not working you can usually find me at In-n-Out ordering the most complicated (but delicious) order ever, taking a walk with my doggo Benny, or doing some sort of art project. I am so thankful to be part of the BGC South SLO team because I get to help construct a fun, organized, and diverse program where our kiddos and staff can feel safe.

Remy, Grover Heights Interim Unit Coordinator
Hey there! I'm Remy, and let me kick things off by sharing a little secret—I actually spent a good chunk of my childhood at the Boys & Girls Club at Grover Heights. It was more than just a place for me; it was where I began to see the power of community and mentorship. Fast forward to today, I'm a recent graduate from Chico State, wielding a shiny bachelor’s degree in Public Health. But that's just one step on my journey—I've got my sights set on a nursing program next year. Returning home after college, I felt this pull to reconnect, to dive back into the vibrant tapestry of my community. And what better way to do that than to be a mentor? So, guess where you'll find me now? Yep, back at the Boys & Girls Club, soaking up wisdom from the kids and the locals alike. Every day is a lesson, a chance to learn something new, whether it's from the spirited youth or the resilient souls in our neighborhood. Oh, and did I mention I'm a nature enthusiast? Give me the great outdoors and any physical activity, and I'm in my element. Now, let's talk about the serious stuff—food. Sushi, Italian cuisine, and BBQ are my top three favorites, but hey, I'm always up for a culinary adventure. So, there you have it—Remy, the community-minded, nature-loving, foodie mentor, ready to make a difference, one connection at a time. |
