What is Bright Futures?

Bright Futures is an after school program created with monies from the After School Education and Safety (ASES) Grant and the 21st Century Grant.  There is no fee to participate - the grant covers all the facets of the program.  The purpose of this grant is to: extend learning beyong the school day, close the achievement gap and keep students in a safe enviroment from when school ends unitl 6pm.

It is the intention of the grants to have students stay from when school ends (2:30pm) until 6:00pm to get the full advantage from the after school program.  To keep your daily classes you must be enrolled and attending all day (until 6:00pm).  Three unexcused absences from a class will cause a students to be dropped from that day.  If you are dropped you may no longer attend that day.  Students that are priority at the end of Bright Futures Session 1 (the beginning of the school year) will have prority enrollment at the start of the Bright Futures Session 2 and so on throughout the school year.

These policies are put into place to preserve the function of the grants and to maximize the learning experience.

The Boys & Girls Club focuses on giving chlildren a safe, positve and educational place to be in a after-school setting and because of this grant we are able to do so.  We hope to continue this service for years to come.  For more information on this grant and what it means now and in the future click the link below.
